State Highway 1, Leithfield is closed following a serious crash.

A police spokesperson said emergency services were alerted to the two vehicle crash at 4.20pm.

“Initial indication are that there are serious injuries.”

Chris Lynch Media understands the crash is near Ashworth Beach Road.

A helicopter has been sent to the scene.

Diversions are in place, motorists are advised to avoid the area.
