Two children have been taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Darfield.

A police spokeswoman said they were advised at 11am that two people had been struck by a car on Beattys Road.

Police didn’t have the exact age of the children but they were under the age of 15 the spokeswoman said.

A St John spokeswoman said paramedics treated and transported two patients in a moderate condition to Christchurch Hospital.
