PlaceMakers today confirmed it is closing its Antigua Street branch in Christchurch as well as a small depot in Helensville, Auckland. 

A spokeswoman says this follows Fletcher Building’s announcement in March that in response to the Covid-19 market downturn it was having to make some difficult decisions across the company.

PlaceMakers has four other branches in Christchurch which will be able to service customers’ needs.

She says regrettably, these decisions affect some of our employees.

“We have redeployed most to other roles or branches within the company and are supporting the small number who will be leaving the company in finding new employment.”
