Police are investigating an alleged stabbing in Fairlie which left a person needing to be flown to hospital early Saturday morning.

A police spokesperson told chrislynchmedia.com officers were called to Main Road at 2.15AM.

The victim was taken to hospital by helicopter with minor injuries.

Police enquiries into the circumstances of the incident are continuing.

Anyone who witnessed anything on Main Road this morning, or has CCTV footage which could assist the investigation, is being asked to contact Police on 105 and quote file number 260912/6922.
