Metro’s Event Direct shuttle bus service is your stress-free ride to events at One New Zealand Stadium at Te Kaha.

Event Direct by Metro is a pre-booked shuttle bus service which picks up customers from 11 different locations around Christchurch, taking them directly to Latimer Square and Ara, both short walks from One New Zealand Stadium at Te Kaha.

Canterbury Regional Council Public Transport Core Service Lead Councillor Joe Davies said Event Direct is the smart choice.

“It’s a direct, guaranteed ride into the city and home again,” Councillor Davies said.

Public transport general manager Stewart Gibbon said the shuttle bus service is a premium offering, providing eventgoers with a guaranteed space on a shuttle bus taking them directly to drop-off points only a short walk away from the stadium.

“The shuttles are a pre-booked service, so it’s essential eventgoers book online ahead of events in order to guarantee their space on board,” he said.

Early bird fares are available until the week prior to the event; these are $5 each way per person and $10 return. Regular fares are $6.25 each way per person and $12.50 return.

Shuttle bookings close at 5pm the night before the event. The Metro network will operate to normal timetables, and for large events, routes
servicing the interchange may experience high demand, particularly after events.
