Countdown on Colombo Street has undergone a deep clean after a Covid19 positive person visited the store on Sunday.
A Sudima hotel staff member was tested as part of routine testing at the facility and returned a negative test on Thursday 29 October.
The Ministry of Health said on Saturday they developed symptoms and sought a further test on Sunday.
A positive result was received yesterday.
Countdown’s general manager corporate affairs, safety and sustainability Kiri Hannifin confirmed the person visited the store on Sunday.
The supermarket underwent a deep clean last night.
The person visited the store on Sunday 1 November between 11.30AM and 12pm.
The Countdown is open today.
The Ministry of Health is expected to release more details today at its daily news conference at 1pm
