A motorcyclist has been injured in a collision with a car at the intersection of Halswell Junction Road and Springs Road early this morning.

A police spokeswoman told chrislynchmedia.com emergency services were called to the crash at around 6.50am.

Fire and Emergency crews from Wigram and Spreydon were called to the scene.

A St John spokesman said they responded with a rapid response unit and an ambulance.

“Our ambulance staff treated one patient and transported them to Christchurch Public Hospital in a minor condition.”

The road was blocked for a period but has since reopened.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
