The post-mortem examination for the person who died in Papanui, Christchurch, yesterday has been completed.

Police have confirmed that the death was not of a suspicious nature and has been referred to the Coroner.

Police were called to a property on Main North Road in Papanui at around 2.40pm, where a woman was found in a critical condition.

Despite the efforts of emergency services, the person died at the scene.
