Emergency services have responded to a single vehicle crash on Heaton Street in Merivale, between Allister Avenue and Circuit Street.

Police were called about 5.50pm.

A spokeswoman said initial indications suggested one person had been seriously injured.

“The road is closed, with diversions in place. Please avoid the area if possible,” she said.

Motorists have been advised to expect delays while emergency services work at the scene.
