Police are investigating after a body was located in a red zone area in Burwood yesterday.

A police spokeswoman told chrislynchmedia.com emergency services were called to Dunair Drive just after 6pm.

The death was being treated as unexplained.

Cordons were in place on Dunair Drive between Brooker Avenue and New Brighton Road.

Members of the public were advised to expect a police presence while enquiries continued.

A police officer at the scene last night said the death was not suspicious and the scene was largely procedural.

He urged media last night not to report the scene to avoid onlookers.

However, police released a statement this morning.

Police wearing boiler suits were seen inspecting the road surface and a police gazebo was set up at the site.

Residents told chrislynchmedia.com they were frustrated by the limited information provided by police.
