A person has been seriously injured in train and vehicle crash in Kaiapoi.

Police said they received a report of a collision between a train and a vehicle on Doubledays Road in Kaiapoi about 7pm.

 

One person suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital.

All train services along the track were suspended as emergency services responded to the incident.

Police said no roads in the area were blocked.
