Emergency services attended two separate crashes on Christchurch’s Southern Motorway late this morning, both occurring around the same time.
A police spokeswoman told chrislynchmedia.com that police received a report of a two-vehicle crash on the Southern Motorway at around 11.50am.
One of the lanes was blocked for a short time but has since been cleared. The crash occurred just west of the Curletts Road overpass, where one of the vehicles flipped upside down.
A St John spokeswoman said they responded to two separate incidents, which happened approximately 100 metres apart.
“We attended with two ambulances. One patient, in a moderate condition, was taken to Christchurch Hospital,” the spokeswoman said.
“The other patient appears to have been assessed and treated at the scene.”
