Snow warnings for South Island alpine passes

PORTERS PASS (SH73)

Snow is expected to affect the road for a time during Wednesday morning. Between 7am and 9am Wednesday, a further 1cm or less may settle on the road above 600 metres, with lesser amounts down to 400 metres.

 LEWIS PASS (SH7)

Snow is expected to affect the road for a time during Wednesday morning. Between 6am and 11am Wednesday, 1 to 3 cm of snow may settle on the road above 600 metres especially in the east, with lesser amounts down to 400 metres.

LINDIS PASS (SH8)

Snow flurries are expected at times during the day (Wednesday), but no significant accumulations are expected.

MILFORD ROAD (SH94)

Snow flurries to 400 metres are expected to affect the road this morning, then ease during the afternoon and evening. Between 6am and 10am Wednesday, less than 1cm may accumulate on the road above 400 metres.

CROWN RANGE ROAD

Snow is expected to affect the road at times today (Wednesday). Between 6am and 10am Wednesday, a further 1 to 2cm of snow may settle on the road above 400 metres on top of what has already fallen, lesser amounts to 300 metres. For the remainder of Wednesday, light snow flurries with little further accumulation expected.

DUNEDIN TO WAITATI HIGHWAY (SH1)

Snow is expected to affect the road on Wednesday. Between midday and midnight Wednesday, 1cm of snow may settle on the road near the summit.
