A person has died following a collision with a vehicle in a carpark on Riccarton Road, Christchurch.

A police spokeswoman said the incident was reported about 2.40pm.

The accident happened at the Bush Inn Centre.

The police spokeswoman said the person died at the scene.

Cordons are in place.

A WorkSafe spokeswoman told Chris Lynch they have been notified of an incident this afternoon in Riccarton.

”We are making initial inquiries which will determine our next steps.”
