The MetService has issued a Heavy Rain Warning – Orange for Kaikōura district.

From 7am Sunday through to 6pm Monday the agency is forecasting 230-280mm of rain.

The heaviest is likely to be from Sunday afternoon through to Monday morning.

There is also a Heavy Rain Watch for Hurunui north of Amberley.

There may be heavy rain for the 24 hours from 9am Sunday to 9am Monday.
