Police forensics have arrived at the house where a newborn baby was found dead.

The baby was located at a residential address in Spreydon at about 8pm last night.

A police tent has been erected in the backyard of a house in the suburb.

A neighbour said a large police van is now stationed in front of the house.

Police crews in white boiler suits have entered the property.

The house has now been completely cordoned off.

A post mortem and scene examinations will be carried out today.
