A person has been airlifted to hospital after suffering burns from lighting a fire at Mt Cheeseman Lodge.
A St John Ambulance spokeswoman said emergency services were notified at 11.19AM about the incident.
“We responded with one ambulance, one rapid response unit, one first response unit and a helicopter.
We assessed and treated one patient with moderate injuries who was transported to Christchurch hospital via helicopter.”
A police spokeswoman confirmed the person was injured after attempting to ignite a fire.
