A man has been hit by in a train in Christchurch leaving him cricitially injured.

A police spokeswoman told Chris Lynch Media emergency services received a report of a person getting hit by a train in Heathcote Valley,

A St John Spokeswoman said they were notified of an incident at 01:16am.

They responded with one ambulance, two rapid response vehicles and two managers to the scene.

“We assessed and treated one patient who was transported to Christchurch hospital in a critical condition.”
