A video has emerged of a light aircraft taking off just seconds before it crashed in Oxford.
The microlight aircraft, named Kermit, was taking part in the Wheels and Wings show on Sunday.
A police spokesperson told Chris Lynch Media police were advised at 2.40pm that a light plane had landed short of the runway on Browns Road, View Hill.
The passenger was seriously injured and rushed to Christchurch hospital.
The pilot suffered moderate injuries and was treated at the scene a St John Ambulance spokesperson said.
A spectator at the show said the plane appeared to stall before the incident happened.
Another eyewitness, who captured the footage of the plane seconds before the crash, said it “sounded like the plane crunched.
In the video, the aircraft appears to take off without incident, but seems to loose power.
“It was pretty scary and not a very good feeling, but hoping they both make a full recovery” the eyewitness said.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
