Three arrested, after stolen car spiked in Christchurch

Three people have been arrested after they failed to stop for police, while driving a stolen car.

A police spokesman told Chris Lynch Media police were notified of a stolen vehicle around 6:18PM.

A resident in Aranui said she was yelled out by a police dog handler to stay inside.

She said a police dog handler was searching the roof of her neighbour’s house on Lenton Street.

Police tried to spike the car near Shortland Street.

The vehicle was spiked about at about 6.40PM on Marshlands Road.

Three people were taken into custody the police spokesman said.
