A teenager has been injured in a dog attack in Burnside

A police spokesperson told chrislynchmedia.com officers were called to Guildford Street about 5pm On Saturday, following a report of a dog attack.

The teenager suffered moderate injuries.

A St John spokesperson said an ambulance was sent to the scene.

“Our crew assessed and treated one patient who was transported to a local medical centre in a moderate condition,” the spokesperson said.

Animal control officers were notified and have been involved in the incident.

Chris Lynch Media understands the dog was known to the victim.

The Christchurch City Council has been approached for comment.

No other details have been made available.
