Police are asking the public to help locate a stolen vehicle that has been involved in several dangerous incidents across Christchurch today.

The red Subaru, registration WARP9x, was taken from outside a rest home on Papanui Road this morning.

The vehicle has since been seen on Travis Road, where it was reported to have illegally overtaken another car and nearly hit several school children. It was also involved in a petrol drive-off and was later sighted in Burnside.

A police spokesperson said enquiries are ongoing into the theft and subsequent reports.

Anyone with information about the vehicle or footage of its movements is urged to contact Police via 105, quoting event number P063688330.
