Police are investigating an aggravated robbery at a Merivale supermarket.

A police spokesperson said the robbery occurred at around 5.15pm, when a man entered the store (FreshChoice in Merivale Mall) and advised staff that he had a weapon, and demanded money from a till.

The man left the store on foot, heading towards Aikmans Road, carrying a black grocery bag.

“Police would like to hear from anyone with information which could assist our enquiries.

“Information can also be provided anonymously via Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111.

While no one was harmed during the incident staff were shaken by the ordeal.
