Rangiora Police are appealing for witnesses after a 27-year-old man was charged with indecent assault following an incident on Williams Street in Kaiapoi last night.

The man appeared in Christchurch District Court this morning and is due to reappear on 13 August.

Police said there are likely people who witnessed the incident but left the area before officers arrived. They are also seeking anyone who may have been approached by a man wearing a dark beanie, grey suit jacket and jeans between 3pm and 6.30pm yesterday.
