Power cut to several Christchurch suburbs as temperatures plummet

More than 1200 properties were without power across parts of Christchurch last night.

Orion’s outage map showed 1295 properties were without electricity across St Albans, Papanui and surrounding streets.

The outage happened on a freezing night in Christchurch, with the temperature sitting at just 2 degrees.
