There was another fleeing driver incident in Christchurch overnight.

A police spokeswoman says a vehicle linked to stolen cars was seen driving in the eastern suburbs.

Police signaled for the vehicle to stop, but when it failed to do so a pursuit was initiated.

She said the pursuit was abandoned due to the manner of driving.

The vehicle was spiked on Travis Road in Burwood.

It continued to drive at a slow speed until it came to a stop on Hampshire Street in Aranui where the driver was arrested.

Witnesses told Chris Lynch they saw the car being followed by police at slow speed on just its rims.

A 25-year-old man is due to appear in the Christchurch District Court this morning charged with driving in a dangerous manner, failing to stop, driving whilst disqualified.

He also had a warrant for his arrest.

It’s the third police chase in as many days.

Yesterday a 29 year man was arrested after failing to stop for police at 8.30AM on Wainui Street.

Last Saturday a man was arrested after failing to stop for police before allegedly carjacking another car.
