Police are responding to an incident at a residential address in Avonhead.

A police spokeswoman said they’re at a house on Beatrice Place.

Officers were encouraging a person to come outside of the premises.

They’ve been at the address since 1.30PM.

“Locals are advised to avoid the area while police resolve the situation safely” the spokeswoman said.

A resident said police went into the house “fully armed” and haven’t come out yet.

Another resident said police had blocked off Beatrice Place off Avonhead Road.

Multiple police cars were parked in Avonhead Road.
