A police cap and hi-visibility police jacket were stolen from Lyttelton police station early this morning.

A police spokeswoman said three offenders pulled up to the station on Sumner Road at 1 am in a white four-door hatchback, before breaking into the building.

Police were looking at security footage and were making enquires to catch the offenders
