Police attend incident on Ferry Road

Update 10.45am: Ferry Road is now open following a scene examination after the discovery of a package.

Police have deemed the package not suspicious and the road has been reopened. 

Ferry Road was closed from Ensors Road to Hopkins Street as Police attended an incident.

A police spokesperson says they are responding to a report of a suspicious package, which came in about 8am.

The package is understood to have been found in the car park of power tool company The ToolShed.

The public are asked to avoid the area. 

Residents on Ferry Road have told Chris Lynch Media they have been unable to get to their cars parked inside the cordon.

The road will be closed in both directions while Police conduct a scene examination.
