A person has been seriously injured in a crash in Prebbleton this afternoon.

A police spokesman said they responded to reports of a two-vehicle crash on the corner of Robinsons Rd and Birchs Rd, reported at 2:42pm.

The roads was still closed at 4PM.

A St John spokeswoman said were notified of the incident and responded with an ambulance, and a rapid response vehicle.

A patient was assessed and transported to Christchurch Hospital in a serious condition, the spokeswoman said.
