A person has been rushed to hospital in a serious condition after an incident aboard a fishing vessel at Lyttelton Port.
A St John Ambulance spokesman told Chris Lynch Media they were notified of an incident at 3.40pm.
An ambulance and two rapid response vehicles were sent to the scene.
One patient was transported to Christchurch Hospital in a serious condition.
Chris Lynch Media understands the person was crushed on the boat.
A police spokesperson said they were advised by ambulance, however, police were not required.
A Lyttelton Port Company spokesperson said “we can confirm Fire and Emergency NZ and St John Ambulance are attending an incident.
The spokesperson said no Lyttelton Port Company staff members were involved.
A Work Safe spokesperson said they were not notified of the incident.
