Emergency services were called to a paragliding incident on Thursday night.

A police spokesperson said police responded to an incident involving one person at about 7.20pm off Godley Heads Road.

The accident happened near the gun emplacements.

Fire and Emergency crews were called to the scene, along with St John ambulance.

The injured person was airlifted to hospital by rescue helicopter in a moderate condition.
