New Zealand Food Safety has extended a recall of several Pak’nSave Riccarton deli meals because they may contain foreign matter, specifically glass.

The recall was first issued on 13 June and was extended on 17 June to include additional batches.

The affected products are RW Sweet and Sour Chicken, Butter Chicken Deli Made, and Deli Made Butter Chicken Panini.

They were sold chilled in plastic containers at Pak’nSave Riccarton only and have not been exported.

The affected date markings are:

RW Sweet and Sour Chicken, packed on 09.06.26 to 14.06.26, use by 14.06.26 to 19.06.26.

Butter Chicken Deli Made, packed on 09.06.26 to 15.06.26, use by 14.06.26 to 20.06.26.

Deli Made Butter Chicken Panini, packed on 09.06.26 to 18.06.26, use by 14.06.26 to 21.06.26.

New Zealand Food Safety said the recall did not affect any other deli products at Pak’nSave Riccarton.

Customers are being asked to check the packed on and use by dates on the product container.

Affected products should not be eaten.

There have been no reports of associated injuries, but anyone who has eaten the products and has concerns about their health should seek medical advice.

Customers can contact Pak’nSave Riccarton for a full refund.
