Two people have been arrested after burglary of a commercial premise in Hornby.

Police responded to reports of a burglary of a commercial premise on Shands Road, just after 3 am.

Police later found the van involved in the burglary, in the Addington area and arrested two people with the assistance of a Police dog unit.

One person (37) has been charged with burglary and drugs charges and is due to appear in Christchurch District Court 5 December.

The other person is being referred to youth aid.
