The Ministry of Education says no other schools have reported any issues with school lunches today.
It follows claims from Haeata Community Campus that contaminated lunches were delivered on Monday.
In a message online, Principal Peggy Burrows said there had been “a significant health and safety breach” involving the lunches and acknowledged that some students may have eaten the affected food before it was pulled.
“We have recalled all lunches but are aware that some students may have eaten some of the food,” she said.
Ministry of Education Operations and Integration Helen Hurst said they were investigating, but said there were no reports of student illness.
“We have advised the school to monitor students, and any illness is to be reported to Health New Zealand.
We are working with MPI on this investigation and no other school has reported any issues with today’s lunches.”
The school’s lunch supplier Compass Group, has been approached for comment.
