Multiple Halswell businesses have been left counting the cost after a series of overnight smash and grab attacks.
Offenders first smashed their way into businesses on the corner of Sparks Road and Kennedys Bush Road, early this morning, including Halswell Cafe and Sushi Fusion.

Halswell Cafe and Sushi Fusion were both targeted.
The owner of Halswell Cafe told Chris Lynch Media she had only bought the business a few months ago and was devastated by the damage.
She said it was unlikely the cafe would be able to trade this morning.
Next door, the owners of Sushi Fusion said it was the second time their business had been targeted in just over a year.

Smashed glass was left scattered inside and outside the shops.
Further along Halswell Road, both Halswell Noodle Delights and Halswell Seafoods Burgers, Fish and Chips were also targeted.
The till was stolen from the fish and chip shop.
When Chris Lynch Media arrived, police crime scene examiners were already at the affected businesses carrying out forensic examinations, taking fingerprints and collecting samples of blood believed to have been left behind by the offenders.

The owners said they were particularly upset they were unable to provide local school lunches as planned.
Senior Sergeant Kerry Joyce said “Police are currently making enquiries into these incidents, including working to locate those involved.
