A global Microsoft outage has caused disruption to some Air New Zealand systems, resulting in minor delays to flights and temporary issues with the airline’s online services.

In a statement, Air New Zealand said the outage was affecting access to some online functions.

“We’re currently affected by a global Microsoft outage that’s impacting some Air New Zealand systems. You may have trouble using some of our online services during this time,” the airline said.

“Our flights are experiencing some minor delays due to the outage. If you’re travelling today, please allow extra time at the airport and keep a close eye on your flight in the Air NZ app, website, or on airport departure boards.”

The airline said it appreciated customers’ patience as staff worked to minimise disruption.

“We know this is frustrating and really appreciate everyone’s patience, kindness and understanding while our teams work hard to keep things moving safely and smoothly.”
