One person has serious injuries after being assaulted in Linwood early this morning.
A police spokeswoman told Chris Lynch emergency services were called to a house on Norwich Street just before 5AM.
She said one person has been transported to hospital with serious injuries.
Another person has been taken into custody in relation to the assault.
The street has police cordon in place and has been blocked off.
A neighbour told Chris Lynch she woke to sounds of a man screaming and wailing.

“”About 13 – 15 police cars, 2 ambulances and one fire truck turned up at the address.
“I have no idea what has happened but I’ve never heard a man scream in anguish like that before.”
