A Bryndwr family is feeling nervous after receiving an abusive and threatening note in their letterbox over the weekend.

The Newstalk ZB listener told Chris Lynch “when my wife came into the house on Saturday, she looked shocked and upset.”

“She then showed me the note and I thought it must be kids that have left this.”

“But then if the note is broken down at the bottom where it says “it’ll” – a child wouldn’t write like that.”

The note said “inside voices c***s – we can hear you b***h – go home b***h – we can be mean and it’ll be fun.”

The man said “we’re a family of five from New Zealand and getting this note has left my wife and I somewhat nervous.”

The resident has ordered outdoor cameras “that will be going up as soon as they arrive.”

“We have no idea who wrote it, we have no enemies and get on with all our close neighbours.”

“My wife has been feeling uneasy at home by herself as she feels the note is aimed at her because of the words that were used.”

“We obviously haven’t shown our young kids but we have spoken to them about not answering the door.”

The note has been reported to police.

A police spokeswoman told Chris Lynch the resident “should call 105 and police can look into the circumstance and determine any next steps.”

The man said his next door neighbour is a police officer and has been checking in to make sure the family was ok.
