The identity of a Christchurch man accused of sexual offending can now be revealed.
In February, police arrested 35-year-old Christchurch man John Hope Muchirahondo in relation to alleged sexual offending involving four victims.
Detective Senior Sergeant Nicola Reeves said as consequence, he is facing five charges of sexual violation.
The incidents allegedly took place between late 2018 and late February this year.
He reappeared in the High Court in Christchurch today and was remanded in custody to appear again in July.
He previously had interim name suppression.
Detective Senior Sergeant Nicola Reeves said “we are now asking anyone who might have information or concerns, and has not yet come forward, to please reach out to us.”
“We would like to reassure those who come forward that the information they provide us will be treated with sensitivity.”
