Customers holding unredeemed GrabOne vouchers will not receive refunds following the collapse of the company behind the popular online deals platform.
Daniel Stoneman and Neale Jackson of Calibre Partners were appointed liquidators of Global Marketplace New Zealand Limited, the operator of GrabOne in New Zealand.
The liquidators confirmed the business has ceased trading due to funding constraints and a sales process for the company’s assets is now under way.
“As a result, the Company will not be promoting any existing or future deals whilst in liquidation,” Calibre Partners said in a statement.
Consumers who still hold unused GrabOne vouchers will not be reimbursed. Instead, they are being advised to contact individual merchants directly to see whether their vouchers will still be honoured.
“For consumers who hold unredeemed vouchers, the Company is unable to provide refunds,” the statement said. “Consumers will need to take steps themselves, including contacting individual merchants, to assess how unredeemed vouchers will be treated.”
The liquidators clarified that they do not assume any agreement previously made between consumers and GrabOne, saying the original terms remain between customers and the company.
The company’s collapse ends more than a decade of operations in New Zealand, during which GrabOne became one of the country’s most recognisable daily deals websites.
