Fire crews were called to a house fire in Linwood this morning, after multiple calls were made to emergency services just before 9AM.

Fire and Emergency Shift Manager Lynn Crosson told Chris Lynch Media two fire engines were sent to a domestic property, just off Linwood Avenue, following reports of visible smoke.

“There is a fire at the address, though the entire house is not on fire,” Crosson said.

“We received quite a few calls, so it was obviously putting up a bit of smoke, which is quite visible in Christchurch this morning.”

The fire was confirmed on arrival, and crews remain at the scene.

 

There is no official word yet on cause of the fire.
