Emergency services remain at the scene of a serious crash in Ashburton.

A police spokesperson said the crash, involving a car and a truck, happened at the at the intersection of Hackthorne Road and Maronan Valetta Road.

The collision was reported around 9:45AM.

The road is currently blocked while emergency services attend the scene.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
