Motorists are advised to expect delays after a truck crashed into a guard rail between Arthur’s Pass Village and Otira this morning.

The crash happened in an area known locally as Windy Point or Mirror Corner. Recovery efforts are under way, and drivers have been urged to take extra care when travelling through the area.

MetService has issued a road snowfall warning for Arthur’s Pass from 4am tomorrow, with snow expected to affect higher parts of the route.
