A popular Christchurch trampoline park has closed its doors, just a day after another venue in the city shut down.

Mega Air Trampoline Park on Carman Road closed with immediate effect, with staff understood to have been caught off guard by the sudden decision.

The closure came just a week after Move X in Bromley also stopped operating, raising fresh questions about the pressure facing indoor entertainment businesses in Christchurch.

In a statement, the company said Mega Air and its venue hire business Westend had both closed unexpectedly.

“This news came as a shock to us, and we are still working through the details. Unfortunately, we are no longer able to operate or accept any bookings.

“Over the past 10 years, it has been an absolute privilege to be part of the Christchurch and Canterbury community. We’ve loved being a place where people could come together to celebrate, have fun, and create lasting memories. To everyone who visited us, supported us, and worked with us, thank you. It has truly meant so much to our team.”

The abrupt closure is likely to disappoint families and customers who had bookings planned, as well as staff affected by the move.

Mega Air had been a well known destination for children’s parties, events and indoor recreation in Christchurch for the past decade.
