A motorist has serious injuries after the car they were driving went off a bank on Governors Bay Road.
A police spokeswoman said they were advised at 12.30pm that a car had gone off the road on Governors Bay Road, between Omaru Road and Sandy Beach Road.
A St John Ambulance spokeswoman said they responded with two rapid response vehicles, one ambulance and a helicopter to the scene.
“We have assessed and treated one patient with serious injuries who will be transported to Christchurch hospital.”
The road has been closed to traffic at the intersection with Omaru Road.
