Two people have been seriously injured after a car crashed into a power pole in Russley early this morning.

A police spokesperson said police were advised at 5.20am that a car had collided with a power pole at the intersection of Yaldhurst Road and Fovant Street.

A St John spokeswoman said they responded two ambulances and one manager.

“We assessed and treated two patients in a serious condition, both transported to Christchurch hospital.”
