A Casebrook resident is fed-up with boy racers speeding in his residential street, and is urging the Council to install speed bumps.

It follows last night’s crash where a speeding driver smashed into the resident’s parked car on the street with such force, the vehicle landed on his front lawn.

His car has been completely destroyed.

The Grampian Street resident told Chris Lynch the crash happened at 11.15pm.

“My wife and I were both home and just thought holy shit I think we both knew exactly what it was, as with all the boy racers, we’ve been expecting it.”

The resident said ten minutes later fire and two police cars arrived on scene.

“He was arrested and taken in for blowing over the limit.”

The resident told Chris Lynch the driver knocked on his door today with flowers and apologised.

He said “ we’ve been putting up with boy racers in the area for a few years now, and speeding happens on a nightly basis.”

“We’ve asked the Council to install speed bumps and had no response and the racing and drifting has got worse.”

“Police are aware of the issues but can’t sit in the street all night which we totally understand.”

Police confirmed the accident took place and said there were no injuries and a car was towed away.
