Christchurch Police are seeking information from the public following an arson attack at a commercial premises in Sydenham.

They were called to a fire at a business on Pilgrim Place at around 3.30am on Tuesday 23 December 2025.

Detective Sergeant Luke Vaughan said investigators were keen to speak with a man pictured as part of the enquiries.

“We believe he has information that could assist with our investigations, and we would like to speak with him,” Vaughan said.

Police were also asking anyone who was in the Pilgrim Place area around 3.30am, or anyone with CCTV footage they have not already spoken to, to come forward.
