Police were forced to use road spikes early this morning to stop a fleeing driver.

A police spokeswoman said a vehicle failed to stop and was spiked on Colombo Street around 2:25am.

She said those in the vehicle fled on foot.

At least one person was located and arrested, but charges are yet to be laid.

The vehicle was spiked near Countdown and the person arrested was located in the Milton Street area.

There’s no word on the offender’s age or sex.
